How do you use the Products Sold report?
Filter products sold by date, manufacturer, or category and export the report as a CSV file.
Interpreting the Products Sold report
The Products Sold report summarizes order lines for the selected period by product and customer country. You can filter the results by manufacturer and the category stored on the order line. The report supports viewing demand, product quantities, and current inventory balance, but it is not an accounting sales report as such.
Run the Products Sold report
The Products Sold report is run in the Reports view of the Dashboard.
- Open Reports and find Products Sold .
- Select Run Report .
- Set the date range. The default is the last 30 days.
- If necessary, select Manufacturer and Category .
- Check the result in the Preview tab or open Export and select Download CSV .
The preview may only include a subset of rows. Use CSV export to analyze the entire truncated result.
Read the product and country specific lines
The Products Sold report creates a different row for the same product for each customer country. The columns are:
- Product ID : The numeric record ID of the product.
- Product : The name of the product in the store's default data language.
- SKU : The model or product number stored on the order line.
- Quantity Sold : The sum of the unit quantities recorded on order lines.
- Total sales : the quantity of order lines multiplied by the unit price stored on the order line.
- Product weight : The weight of the product stored in the rows. The column is not the total weight of the units sold.
- Current balance : The current master inventory quantity for the product. It is not the period-end balance or the variant-specific free balance.
- Manufacturer : The manufacturer currently associated with the product.
- Country : customer country saved for the order.
The rows are arranged by quantity sold from highest to lowest. In the event of a tie, the lower product code comes first.
Use boundaries correctly
The date range for the Products Sold report is based on the purchase date of the order. The manufacturer filter uses the current manufacturer of the product. The category filter uses the category list saved on the order line at the time of the transaction, so a later category change does not move the old order line to a different group.
Select a single manufacturer or category to study demand for a specific range. If you are comparing two time periods, use the same length and scope. Export both results in CSV format and compare products by product ID and country.
Identify products that need replenishment
The Products Sold report helps you find products with a high volume of sales relative to the current balance.
- Sort the CSV by quantity sold.
- Compare the amount to the Current Balance column.
- Check the correct stock status of the product in the inventory view, especially if the product has variants, reservations, or incoming batches.
- Estimate replenishment needs with lead time, forecast, and purchase orders already placed.
The current balance is a temporary benchmark. The report alone cannot be used to determine sales velocity, end date, or recommended order quantity.
Limit financial conclusions
The Products Sold report aggregates order lines by date, but does not apply the spatial restrictions of the actual sales report. Therefore, it can include, for example, canceled, returned, quotation, test, uncollected, or orders imported from an ERP system.
The report does not specify tax, tax category, or currency. Do not use the Total Sales column as a proxy for tax-free or tax-based sales, combined sales in different currencies, or accounting revenue. Use the actual sales report and its approved sales boundary for financial reporting.
