SCP shows the next 28 days of demand forecast, uncertainty range, and forecasted inventory based on sales and availability history.
Table of Contents
What does Demand Planning show?
Open SCP from the admin panel’s top menu. The Forecast view brings demand and inventory for the next 28 days into one workspace. The summary shows forecast coverage, the number of forecast-ready products, expected demand and the publication time.
- Forecast shows demand, the uncertainty range and forecasted inventory for each product or variant.
- History retains dated forecast releases and lets you compare forecasts with actual sales.
- Settings contains the planning settings included in the subscription.
How to use the Forecast view
- Open SCP → Forecast.
- Select a published forecast, category or individual product.
- Select the forecast date you want to examine.
- Check the demand forecast, uncertainty range, current inventory and forecasted inventory level, if available.
- Use the results to support your purchasing decision and make the final decision yourself.
How is the forecast generated?
The forecasting model uses the product’s actual sales and verified days when it was available for sale. If the product was available but did not sell, the day counts as zero sales. Days when the product was disabled or out of stock are not treated as ordinary zero-sales days. Unknown days are not filled with invented values either.
Free preview and SCP subscription
Every store receives a real daily forecast for up to ten active products. Products are selected primarily by units sold, with recent views used to break ties. An SCP subscription extends the same workflow to the entire active product catalog and unlocks Settings. The preview has no usage quota or separate refresh budget.
How to interpret the results
- Ready means that a forecast has been generated for the product.
- Not Enough History means that there are not yet enough observations to generate a reliable forecast.
- The uncertainty range shows the possible variation in the forecast. The wider the range, the more uncertain the forecast.
- Current inventory is source data. Forecasted inventory combines current inventory with future demand.
SCP supports decision-making. It does not automatically create purchase orders, change inventory or approve purchasing decisions.
