Options for setting the default order of products
- Recommendation (recommended order): The system scores products once a night using an algorithm that takes into account, among other things, the age of the product, stock status, views, order quantities, and variant availability. The higher the score a product receives, the higher it will rise in the listings.
- SKU (product code): Products are arranged alphabetically according to the SKU code.
- Name: Sort alphabetically by product name.
- Price (price order: Order from cheapest to most expensive or from most expensive to cheapest.
- Date: Products are sorted by date, and you can also set future dates to temporarily push products to the top of the list. However, a product's score will naturally degrade over time.
- Sort (manual management): You can set custom Sort numbers for products to define a precise order. For larger product lists, it is often convenient to use Excel to bulk edit these values. Alternatively, you can manage Sort values directly from Akeneo.
Setting the default order in the control panel
- Go to Configurations and select MyStore .
- Find the setting Categories Default Sort By .
- Select the default order you want (for example, Recommendation ).
- Save the changes.
Additional tips
- If you want to influence the visibility of products in the Recommendation order, you can control the date of the product to move it into the future to increase its visibility. However, keep in mind that the score will decrease over time.
- If you have a large product range, it is recommended to define Sort values using Excel or directly through Akeneo.
- Make sure that your inventory balances are up to date, as the algorithm takes availability and the number of variants into account when scoring.
