Purpose of product information quality diagnosis

Quality Diagnosis is a PIM tool with the subheading Product Quality Analysis . It compiles ten product data checks into one view, calculates the Total Coverage of a limited set of products, and displays the products being checked by metric.

Quality diagnosis is a reading tool. It does not change the product, prevent publication, or hide the product from the online store. Corrections are made on the product detail page.

How is Total Coverage Calculated?

Overall coverage is the average of the coverage percentages of the ten metrics. Each metric has the same weight. A metric has 100% coverage if no product in the scope needs to be reviewed for that metric.

The summary shows:

  • Full coverage
  • Products in the scope
  • Products in use
  • the number of metrics that are Critical , Warnings , or Healthy
  • Data language
  • the Created time of the calculation.

The Critical, Warnings, and OK numbers describe metrics, not directly the number of products. The metric card shows the number of products to be checked separately, the number of products to be checked in use, and its own coverage percentage.

Check ten quality metrics

Quality diagnosis checks products using ten indicators:

  1. Essential Content Coverage — The product in use is missing a localized description or usable main image. Severity is Critical.
  2. Product Information Coverage — The product is missing a model or localized name. Severity is Critical.
  3. Manufacturer information coverage — the product is missing a manufacturer when manufacturer information is used in the catalog.
  4. Categorization coverage — the product in use does not belong to any category.
  5. Base price coverage — the base price of the product in use is missing or not positive.
  6. Shipping dimensions coverage — the product in use is missing weight or packaging dimensions.
  7. SEO URL Coverage — The localized product in use is missing a URL or has an open redirect issue.
  8. Variation inventory coverage — A product based on variations is missing an inventory line with a balance to sell.
  9. Product grouping coverage — the product being configured or grouped is not part of the system's product group.
  10. External and AI content review — The product has an API, warehouse API, or AI content message that needs to be evaluated. Severity is Info.

Metrics other than those specifically designated as Critical or Info are Warning. The severity of a metric helps in choosing a work order, but it does not itself change the operational state of the product.

Open the meter to check the products

The products to be checked for the meter are opened by selecting Check products from the meter card.

The table shows Image , ID / SKU , Name , Status , Notes and Actions . Notes indicates product-specific deficiencies. Open product takes you to the current product editor, where the correction is made. Old edit opens a separate old edit view.

After you save the product fix and return to the Product Quality Analysis, refresh the view by reloading the page or reapplying the filter. There is no separate Update Diagnosis button on the page.

Limit Product Quality Analysis

The quality analysis of products can be limited before processing the worklist. The following are available:

  • Status : On or All
  • Missing information
  • Quality score
  • Graduation rate with minimum and maximum percentage
  • Manufacturer
  • Product status
  • Stock status : In stock, Low, Out of stock or No stock lines
  • Category name and choice to include subcategories
  • Attribute is conditions.

The Filtered item label shows the number of products included in the filter. The data language determines in which store language localized names, descriptions, and other language-specific checks are evaluated.

Save a useful view

The saved view preserves the current Quality Diagnostic filters with a name for later use.

  1. Build the desired boundary.
  2. Open Saved Views .
  3. Select Save current view... .
  4. Enter a name in Finnish and English.
  5. Select the visibility to Private (only me) or Shared with tenant .
  6. Select Save .

The default views are Critical Quality Issues , Out of Service Products , Missing Descriptions , Missing Images , and No Category . Saved views can be pinned, cloned, edited, or deleted from your own list. Editing a view shared with a tenant requires the appropriate write permission.

Export checklist in CSV format

The quality diagnosis checklist can be exported using the Data Transfer profile Product Quality Diagnosis Export . The export is not initiated directly from the Product Quality Analysis page.

The CSV contains products that fail one or more quality checks, along with the codes and localized names of the failed checks. Use the export as a worklist for enrichment work or as a snapshot of the health of your catalog.

A single product line in an export file can contain multiple deficiencies. Process the metric codes together to avoid having to enrich the same product in separate rounds for each deficiency.

Impact on online shopping

A quality diagnosis does not directly change the online store. Low coverage or quality class does not remove a product from visibility; product visibility is determined by a separate usage mode and other terms of the online store.

Corrected images, descriptions, prices, categories, and SEO URLs can improve the content of product pages, listings, and search. If you don't want to show an unfinished product to customers, set the product to a specific Inactive state.

Opening a diagnosis, filtering, or using a saved view does not trigger a change in the online store. Only a fix saved to a product can affect the customer view.

Good to know

Quality diagnosis helps prioritize product data corrections, but the result must be interpreted in the context of the metric and product.

  • Overall coverage is the average of ten equally weighted indicators.
  • Critical, Warnings, and Healthy numbers are metric numbers.
  • Repairs are made on the product, not on the diagnostics page.
  • The selected Data Language affects the checks for localized content.
  • PIM preview mode hides summary values and locks the product-specific checklist.
  • CSV export can be found in Data Transfer, not as a function on the diagnostics page.
  • The product's usage status determines visibility; quality scoring does not hide the product.
