When to use CSV express order

CSV Quick Order speeds up adding a large number of products to the shopping cart when the product codes and quantities are already known. The online store's Quick Order processes a CSV file, searches for products based on their SKU product codes, and displays the product codes found before adding them to the shopping cart. The method is suitable for processing, for example, a recurring order or a shopping list that has been compiled in a table.

Quick order does not complete the order and does not skip the shopping cart or checkout checks. After processing the CSV file, the products are added to the shopping cart with a separate button. In the shopping cart, you can still check quantities, delete rows, add other products, and use any product comments allowed in the store before the normal checkout stage.

Open Quick Order and download the template file

The CSV quick order can be found on the Quick Order page in the logged-in customer's online store account. Open your profile and select Quick Order . First, use the Download sample file (CSV) function to download your store's own example file to ensure that the header lines and file format are in a format that the processor recognizes.

The first row of the template file contains the columns SKU and Quantity . The following rows of the template can contain up to three sample products from the store. Replace the sample rows with your own products and do not use the sample product codes in the order unless you really want to order them. Save the file in CSV format when saving from a spreadsheet program.

Fill in the SKU and Quantity columns

Each product line in the Quick Order CSV file requires a SKU and a quantity to be ordered. Enter the exact product code used in the store for the product in SKU column and a positive integer in the Quantity column. The safest template includes only these two columns, although the processor also allows and ignores additional columns.

The case of the headings and the spaces around them do not prevent recognition. The file can use a comma or semicolon as a column separator. Spaces around the product code are removed, and the product is searched for using both the product's regular product code and the SKU used in integrations, regardless of case. However, write the codes in the same format as in the product data to make it easy to review the file.

Submit CSV file for processing

The CSV quick order file is sent by selecting Select CSV File and then Send CSV . If the file is missing, incorrectly saved, or missing the required SKU and Quantity columns, the online store displays an error message and does not generate a list of processed product codes.

Empty rows are skipped. A row with an empty SKU or a quantity that is not numeric or is at most zero is also not processed. Always use a positive integer as the quantity: a decimal quantity may be truncated to an integer during processing. If no valid row matches a product, the online store will report that no products were found that match the given product codes.

Check processed product codes

Successful processing of a CSV quick order will display a list of Processed Product Codes along with the quantity of each product found. Always compare the list to the original file before adding anything to your cart. A single invalid or unknown row can be skipped without a separate row-specific error message if there is at least one product being processed in the file.

If the product code is missing from the results, check the spelling of the code, the quantity, and whether the product is still in the store's product range. The CSV handler itself does not check the product's usage status or stock availability, so the final orderability is confirmed by the usual checks in the shopping cart and checkout. Correct the file and resubmit it if the list of processed products does not match the intended order.

Add processed products to cart

Products processed by the CSV quick order are added to the shopping cart using the shopping cart button below the list. The online store adds the found product lines one by one using the quantities in the CSV file and finally opens the shopping cart. Sending the CSV file alone does not add products or create an order, so make sure that the button completes its action and the shopping cart opens.

Check the products, quantities, prices and availability in the shopping cart. Change quantities or remove products if necessary and add other products as normal. If the store implementation allows product comments, they will be added to the shopping cart. Proceed to checkout only when the shopping cart matches the order list; delivery, payment and other order terms will be processed according to the normal checkout process.

Solve common CSV problems

The most common error in a Quick Order CSV file is an incorrect file format or a missing header. Save the table as a CSV file, not as a spreadsheet workbook, and use your store's own template file. Make sure the header row contains SKU and Quantity , and that each order line has an exact product code and a positive integer quantity.

If the processing is successful but some products are missing, compare the Processed Product Codes list to the file line by line. Correct any unknown product codes and incorrect quantities and resubmit the file. When you need merchant assistance, provide the CSV file that caused the problem along with information about which product codes were missing from the results; remove any other unnecessary or confidential content from the file before submitting.
